Planting a Genre in Baja: The Magic Flute with the Pannon Philharmonic

As a result of cultural co-operation of Baja and Pécs, having been established early in this year, Mozart's Magic Flute is going to be staged on October 12 in Baja. In Baja, in which has outstandingly vibrant cultural life compared to its population, no opera has ever been on the program of the theatre. Máté Szécsi opera singer from Pécs, who has signed as art director of the Baja theatre, would have liked to change this situation and also to write culture history in the town.

We Take off the Burden of Tax from Your Shoulder

The Pannon Philharmonic offers a new opportunity for businesses. Firms and companies can buy season tickets for our Pannonicum Concert Series, of which concerts are held at weekends, on Saturdays, so that the orchestra takes over the tax from the companies Giving the season tickets for these concerts at the Kodály Centre will bring some pleasant evenings to employees, business partners, and their guests – to people who are important to a company. The joint concert visit can deepen collegial relationships; and because of its informality, can open up new dimensions in professional partnerships.

"From Father to Son" - Music over Generations

The family of László Sturcz, principal oboist of our orchestra and the family of Kornél Győri, double bass player of the Pannon Philharmonic will be guests of the "From Father to Son" - Music over Generations ("APÁRÓL FIÚRA” MUZSIKÁLÓ NEMZEDÉKEK) talk show with music, organised by the Csorba Győző County-City Library on 7th October 2012 at 4.00pm at the Knowledge Centre (Dél-dunántúli Regionális Könyvtár és Tudásközpont, Pécs, Universitas u. 2/A.). Their gifted children, Noémi Sturcz and András Győri you could already meet at our orchestra's Masters and Their Pupils concert. You are welcome to know better these talented musicians families of Pécs!

The Orchestra Has Got a Certification “National”

In this spring, the Pannon Philharmonic received a certification “National” , according to which the state gives us priority and records responsibilities of the orchestra in a public service contract. "We feel that the work here in Pécs over the past 10 years have shown that it is possible to create value outside the capital, as well; so that everyone can be proud of it in Hungary"

Booklet as a Present for Music School Children

The Pannon Philharmonic has done a favour for the Grade 1 students of the music schools of the region, by giving them booklets as a present. The music note booklets, introducing the orchestra's Help, Classical Music! series, as well, also aim the gifted children's education for listening to music.

Children Programs Updated

All of the children programs are being renewed; the most significant innovation is that a favourite artist, well-known from the popular music scene, Zoltán Beck, leader of the band 30Y, moderates the Help, Classical Music!, the initiation series of the orchestra.

A Busy Season Has Begun on Thursday

A busy year is ahead for the Pannon Philharmonic. The transformation of the organization’s structure and the certification “National” has opened new functions and new dimensions to the orchestra. They are waiting the audience at the Kodály Centre, the Cathedral of Pécs and the Palace of Arts in Budapest with complex educational programmes, co-production performances, a top notch of pianists, and adult stories. The orchestra, reformed ten years ago, is one of the most performing and most popular ensembles. There are new artists signing contract to come to Pécs, where several opera performances will take place, and the children's programs are getting renewed.

In Pécs, Concerts Start at 7.00pm!

We would like to remind our dear audience that from this season, our  concerts to be held on weekdays at the Kodály Centre are going to start at 7.00pm in order to make it possible that our  music friends travelling by public transportation could comfortably go home after the concerts.

Carity Slam Poetry Evening

On 11 July 2012, Wednesday at 8pm, there will be a benefit evening for the Branch Club (Faág Baráti Kör Egyesület), which is working with fostered children and children in need - supported by the Pannon Philharmonic, too - at the Trafik (Pécs, Perczel utca 22.). At the event, the introduction of Závada Péter's poem book Ahol megszakad (Where it's broken up) is going to be accompanied by a music programme. Also the protegees of the Faág will step up on stage. Ticket proceeds are offered to the benefit of the club.
