Farewell

The Pannon Philharmonic is proud of the achievement and success that have characterized its work of a decade. Our audience knows only the result that finally sounds on the stage. However, music has its way. The from the written notes to the  road to the musicians through rehearsals, the hours spent practicing during breaks, in the dressing rooms, and between the concerts, passing through the conductor's movements and  instructions. It’s a long road full of questions, answers, being lost and finally finding the way home.

Do Not Settle For Canned Stuff!

It is serious! The Pannon Philharmonic invites to tender for development of a program for children of 8-14 years of age. Youth, parents, grandparents and teachers' ideas are welcome, and the most creative ones will be rewarded, as well.

Exchange of Books!

Thanks to the courtesy of the Győző Csorba Library, we are planning a book exchange event on November 23, at our concert The Real poet. Bring your books of fiction or about music you have more than one copy of or are just collecting dust on the book shelf–after having bead several times. Who comes with a book can pick from the others’ and exchange his old book for another one.

Who Kept On Till the End

The Pannon Philharmonicand and Pécs mourn for the orchestra’s Permanent Guest Conductor and a holder of the Culture Grand Prize of Pécs. In the person of Zoltán Kocsis, the country has lost a multifaceted music artist and a polymath. Besides his positions int he capital city, the pianist and conductor  took an important role in helping the professional work of music communities outside of Budapest. The Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra, and the musical life of the city of Pécs together with Pecs city's would not to be that it istoday without the conductor and human support of Zoltán Kocsis. "Music is for all" - said Zoltán Kodály once. Zoltán Kocsis was the music itself, his death is a loss for all.

We Play with Winners

The Pannon Philharmonic will play with world class soloist in its new season, too. The orchestra, which has had a permanent season ticket series for more than a decade, is announcing its new series, starting in autumn, with winners of international prizes and competitions of classical music, including Akiko Suwanai, Marie-Elisabeth Hecker, and Andrei Gavrilov. As demanded by the audience, the tickets, sought for years, can be purchased as early as in March.
