Wind Players Are the Favourite Musicians of the Year

Following the Pannon Philharmonic’s many-year-old tradition, the audience voted in 2012 for the favourite male and female musicians of the year. The audience honoured with the title Judit Tímár flutist and Mihály Laduver clarinettist.

The Pannon Philharmonic also Takes Part in the „Shoe Box of Love” Action of the Baptist Church

This year, the Pannon Philharmonic is contributing to the Baptist Charity Service’s action, as well, on one hand as a shoe box receiving point, on the other hand as a presenter of gifts. In addition to that that the orchestra’s musicians and management members make a gift box, too, for all those who are giving over their shoebox to our representative at the  Kodály Centre ticket office, we are giving a ticket for the Pannon Philharmonic’s Advent Concert for families and children on 23 December, as saying thanks.

Fusion of Classical Music and Jazz - Kornél Fekete-Kovács Is Back Again!

Fekete-Kovács Kornél, who is familiar with the symphonic music world as well, is stepping onto the stage of the Kodály Centre - as an instrumentalist and a composer - on Thursday when there is going to be a Pécs premier of his work: Kornél Fekete-Kovács’s Double Concerto for Flugelhorn and Violin. The event is unique in that the composer's creative partner and friend, who has recently resigned as the Pannon Philharmonic’s concert master, Balázs Bujtor is playing as the soloist.

Zoltán Beck and the Classical Music

Dr. Zoltán Beck, the front-man and songwriter of 30Y, the band representing our homeland at the MTV EMA world competition, lecturer of the University of Pécs is going to be the new hosts of the Pannon Philharmonic’s renewing initiating series. The Artisjus Prize winner musician is a style-creating lyricist; with his performer's activities, he contributed significantly to the expansion of sophisticated pop-rock culture in Hungary - but with his teacher activity and sociology and Romology knowledge, he also has of a wide-ranging social knowledge.

Tickets Are Already on Sale for Our Budapest Concert!

An exciting evening is waiting for lovers of stringed instruments on 16th November in the Palace of Arts in Budapest and on 17th November at the Kodály Centre in Pécs! Tibor Boganyi chief conductor - who also began his career as a cellist and to this day can be seen as a soloist – is going to step onto stage with his friend, the French cello artist Jérôme Pernoo. The concert will tell you scintillating tales of colours, partly through the spectacles of the French impressionist music.

The BBC Was Calling - The Pannon Philharmonic’s Concert Master Is Leaving His Post

Balázs Bujtor, the Pannon Philharmonic’s concert master has signed a 2-year-contract for film music studio recordings for the BBC from 2013. According to the terms and conditions of the contract, the concert master and the studio orchestra tasks would be difficult to coop, therefore Balázs Bujtor leaves the Pannon Philharmonic, because of this extraordinary possibility.

Our Orchestra Has a Chance Again – Please, Give Your Vote!

Fifty-five years, three weeks, ten candidates, two million forints – so can be summarized in numbers the announced sponsor action of the DRB Bank, benefiting organizations of Southern Transdanubia. This year, after the success of the "Civil Christmas" game of last year, the financial institution, which celebrates its 55-year-anniversary, has quadrupled (!) the amount that may be awarded. In Facebook, you can vote until end of October: which one of the ten selected South-Transdanubian organisation should take the two-million. One of them is our orchestra! And one of those who votes will win a ticket for the concert of Péter Geszti and the Gringó Sztár, held in Pécs, as well.
