How do the Japanese play European music? And how do Europeans write Japanese music – or music from other distant worlds? Both are revealed at this concert.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of its foundation, the Tokyo-based Waseda Symphony Orchestra will also visit the famous Kodály Centre on its anniversary tour. In their show, Dvořák's Carnival recounts the world of old carnivals, and The Seven Samurai by our contemporary, the German composer Christian Jost, evokes Japanese culture – in this case, in an authentic Japanese performance – and the music of the English Gustav Holst takes us to even more distant universes; to other planets. This orchestra travels thousands of miles just to play for you. But at this concert, you can travel to even more distant worlds.
