Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”
Beethoven and E-flat major - red velvet carpet, dignity, pomp, noble ideals – and of course, heroes. This evening will feature Beethoven's two heroic works in E-flat major.
The Piano Concerto" Emperor" is the last in a row. Beethoven, who had been losing his hearing, could no longer present the work as a soloist, although in music the emperor is not a monarch, but the instrument itself, the piano, which appears among the instruments of the orchestra in the role of an ideal regent. The heroic symphony "Eroica" is not about a specific person, but rather about a hero who has goals, who struggles, who fails, and who also stands up from failure because he believes in his purpose – and perhaps it is no coincidence that many people recognise themselves in this, perhaps even Beethoven did. If you would like to meet a likeable ruler or a lovable hero, you have the opportunity to do so at this concert!
