The city of Pécs is happy to celebrate the 15th birthday of the Kodály Centre with the local families, offering moments that can become cherished memories and strengthen community bonds. The Zsolnay Heritage Management Ltd, which manages the building, is expecting both children and adults all day on Saturday. The Pannon Philharmonic gives a chamber performance of The Nutcracker, led by the orchestra’s concertmaster, Márta Deák, before the traditional grand-hall production takes place. The poet Dániel Varró will recite his own poem, The Nutcracker, personally at the chamber concert, which is in close intimacy with the chamber arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballet.

During the day, the lobby of the Kodály Centre will host surprise mini-concerts as well as dance flashmobs by Ballet Pécs. Between 5 pm and 10 pm, a light show will be projected on the facade of the Kodály Centre. All registered visitors can attend the events free of charge.
