15 years of Kodály Center / FULL HOUSE
Ludwig van Beethoven: Triple Concerto
Zoltán Kodály: Twenty Hungarian Folksongs (excerpts) – scored by Zoltán Kocsis
Zoltán Kodály: Háry János Suite
How come the Kodály Centre is already 15? The majority of our audience still remembers the days when a barren tennis court stood there. Only 15? How come? The many delightful events that have taken place there would be enough for an entire generation. A young institution has evolved into a cult place not only for residents but also for the whole Hungarian art scene and many international musicians. It is a dream that has come true, the fruit and nurturer of the love for music in Pécs. There is certainly plenty to celebrate! The Pannon Philharmonic will perform a new composition by Sándor Balatoni and a Beethoven work. Their concert will also feature Hungarian folk songs to Kodály's great pleasure, as well as a favourite of the audience, the Háry János Suite. Let’s enjoy this feast together and the delightful fact that the Kodály Centre is much more than just a building and institution: It is a community.
