It is the fifth time that the award ceremony of the László Bertók Poetry Prize has taken place. The event featuring various art forms will present the actors of the Oberon Theatre Company, music pieces setting the poetry of László Bertók to music, and the two prize-winners, written by three composers: Máté Balogh, Márton Levente Horváth, and Ákos Zarándy, performed by Judit Szathmáry, Bertalan Robotka, and Péter Szűcs Péter. The signature piece of the award ceremony – Máté Balogh’s Intrada – will be performed by the Pannon Philharmonic under the baton of András Vass. József Takáts and Sándor Pál will give the laudatory speeches, while Zoltán Ágoston and Balázs Mohácsi will hold the discussions following the actual ceremony. The event takes place within the cooperative framework of the Bertók Project, the Jelenkor Foundation, and the Pannon Philharmonic.

This time, Ferenc Szijj is one of the two awardees of the László Bertók Poetry Prize in recognition of his professional career. Besides the poet honoured for his lifetime achievements, we can also congratulate a young colleague of his, Renátó Fehér, as the other laureate. The award ceremony will take place the night before László Bertók’s 90th birthday, 5 December, in the Kodály Centre.
