Musica Aurea Mixed Choir - Ipolyság,Slovakia
The Musica Aurea Mixed Choir was founded in 1997 in Ipolyság, Slovakia. For its members, choral music is not only a source of inspiration, but also a means of fulfilling their cultural and national identity. The choir is supported by the City of Ipolyság and the Ipolyság branch of Csemadok, a nationwide Slovakian Hungarian cultural association.
The choir's repertoire includes well-known and beloved works of sacred and secular choral literature, ranging from Gregorian chant to contemporary and popular music. The Musica Aurea Mixed Choir is a regular participant in cultural and church events in Ipolyság and the surrounding area. Important events organized by the choir include the traditional Advent concert and the international Pentecost choir festival, but its program called Szentiváni Kóruséj - vándorló koncert (Szentiván Choir Night - traveling concert), which takes place at non-traditional concert venues, is also very popular with the public. Thanks to its choir friendships, it often performs as a guest in Hungarian-populated settlements in Slovakia and Hungary, and has also visited Transylvania.
