Musik der Meister The Pannon Philharmonic in the Musikverein II
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Concerto for Harp, Flute and Orchestra in C Major, K. 299
Hector Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique, op.14
Paris – a cornerstone when it comes to day-dreaming, joie de vivre, romantic moments, dramatic love life and an intensive music scene – besides Vienna, of course. Between the works written in Paris, we can hear a Mozart piece: perhaps his dearest memory of his stay in Paris.
The joy of life unstoppably gushes forth from Debussy’s music, and thanks to its high level of characterisation, we can be virtually present in the afternoon of a Faun day-dreaming about nymphs and playing his pan flute. Mozart's composition strikes a very personal tone in the flute and harp melodies, originally written for a father and daughter. It is no coincidence that Berlioz's Fantastic Symphony bears the subtitle "Episode in the Life of an Artist”: He depicted his own private life and dreams in it. We invite you to a true dream journey.
