A Czech and two Russian composers. A piece dedicated to the Czechoslovakian army, an upbeat saxophone concerto and a symphony proclaiming the glory of the socialist revolution. Theoretically, they are all works of optimism, two of which were inspired by the day's ideologically supported obligatory and slightly forced sanctioned enthusiasm. But is that all? Or is there anything more between the lines? A critical approach? Human destinies? Hope and disillusion? A message outwitting the censorship and secretly winking to the audience?
