Four works by four celebrities, written at the peak of the masters' careers. Each piece represents the reason why the world was in awe of their composers: The emperor, the star and hero of 19th-century Italian opera, Verdi; Paganini, the creator of the cult of the virtuoso genius, who wasn't only admired by other violinists but also the pianist Liszt regarded him as a role model. Ahmet Adnan Saygun, Béla Bartók’s Turkish friend, who  – similarly to Kodály – strove to organise music life and education in his home country and was considered an acclaimed composer in the West too, and finally, Kodály, whose Dances of Galánta is impossible not to love dearly.
