Váradi Marianna – Empress of Austria
Háry János’s spectacular tales are known all over the world. The veteran hussar, who drifted far from his home village, turned into a legend, and as we know, a traveller may lie with authority. From today’s perspective, it seems that regardless of the era, we need boastful, far-fetched heroic deeds and a reality woven with the threads of imagination…
We celebrate Bóbita’s 60th birthday in 2021. On this occasion, a genuine crossover performance will be staged based on Zoltán Kodály's evergreen folk opera as a joint effort of the Bóbita Puppet Theatre and the Pannon Philharmonic. The gala premiere of the production takes place on 26 November 2021.
"AS OPPOSED TO AN OPERATIC ARRANGEMENT, A PUPPET THEATRE PERFORMANCE MUST WORK WITH DIFFERENT TOOLS, AS THERE ARE NO SOLO SINGERS TO ADMIRE OR A LARGE-APPARATUS DANCE ENSEMBLE TO STAGE. FOR THIS REASON, WE NEED TO FORMULATE IT ALL BY "PAINTING" THE MUSIC. WHILE DESIGNING THE IMAGES, IT IS CRUCIAL TO CONVEY THE SPAWNING DEVELOPMENT OF THE STORYLINE AND THE "UNHEARD" GRANDIOSITY OF THE CONTINUOUSLY EXPANDING PLOT." (DÁNIEL HALASI - DIRECTOR)
