Permanent Conductor - András Vass

Education:

Twelve years of piano studies at the Targu Mures Arts Lyceum; two years of private study with the composer Boldizsár Csíky; Balthasar five years of conducting study led by  Ervin Lukács, András Ligeti, and Tamás Gál, after having admitted with maximum score to Franz Liszt Academy of Music Conducting Faculty.
Two years of percussion Study oat the Franz Liszt University of Music

Diplomas and Awards:

1997: general and vocational high school diploma at Targu Mures Arts Lyceum’s piano faculty as the best grade students
2004: conducting degree (graduate with honours, Masters Degree)
2003: Ede Donath Memorial Prize

Mozart's piano concertos with Dana Borsan; Verdi Evenings with Eszter Sümegi (soprano, winner of the Luciano Pavarotti International Singing Competition, 1992, Philadelphia, USA)

Budapest Festival Orchestra, MÁV Symphony Orchestra, Miskolc Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Franz Liszt University of Music, Savaria Symphony Orchestra, Matáv Orchestra, Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra, Solti Chamber Orchestra, Pannon Philharmonic, Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, National Philharmonic, etc..

Collaborations with world-renowned musicians:
Barnabas Kelemen (1999: Mozart Competition in Salzburg, 1st Prize; 2002: International Competition of Indianapolis, 1st Prize, etc), László Fenyő (2004: Casals Competition, 1st Prize), Eszter Sümegi, Dana Borsan (1977: Robert Schumann Competition, 1st Prize), Olivier Latry, György Lakatos, Péter Frankl, etc.

Opera projects:
Verdi: Falstaff (six performances at the National Theatre of Pécs)
Opera projects in the 2012/2013 season: Mozart: The Magic Flute; Gounod: Romeo and Juliet

1995-1997: keyboard artist at the Targu Mures State Philharmonic Orchestra (piano and celesta)
2005-2006: assistant to Maestro Iván Fischer at the Budapest Festival Orchestra, after a successfully winning an international recording competition, on which more than 50 candidates from 17 countries took part.
From September 2006: teaching conductor at the Budapest Festival Orchestra, contracted, working on request,
From the fall 2009: permanent conductor at the Pannon Philharmonic.
Languages:
Hungarian, Romanian and English (advanced level), Italian (beginner)
